publicradiointernational:

“There are now about 250 million people worldwide living in jurisdictions which provide for marriage equity.” (via FiveThirtyEight: Politics Done Right: Gay Marriage Chart-of-the-Day)

Read Margaret Talbot’s post on the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA): “If you believe the courts offer the best route for getting rid of bans on same-sex marriage, then you should be saying ‘I-told-you-so’ this week. In Boston on Thursday, a district court judge overturned part of the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), declaring unconstitutional its ban on federal recognition of same-sex marriages that are legal at the state level.”

This chart gives a good view of how irreversible this trend is. In the past ten years we’ve gone from 0 to 250 million people. Sure, there was a big dip / reversal of a jump with Prop 8 (etc.) in 2008, but these things don’t last forever—what does last, is equality.
The more people live in a society that encourages and approves of equal rights, the more they’ll eventually prefer it over what was before.
